~ Wednesday Rambles ~

I've missed everyone so much!  I do hope that each of you have had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. We did!  The sad thing is that so many are very ill right now...upper respiratory problems, flu, sinus infections, ear infections, you name it. My daughter and good friends all got sick Christmas evening and it has been horrid for them.

I have been fine, except for my knees. I guess I sound like a broken record but they have hurt soooo bad!  Yesterday, I was in tears most of the day. Called the Dr and could not get in, nor today either. Hopefully, they can work me in tomorrow. We had a rainy weather front move through so it's obvious it really bothered me...today is better but I'm being very careful.

Didn't sleep much at all last night...I remember turning off the TV about 4:30 a.m.  At 8:45 a.m. the maintenance man woke me up. Due to the heavy rains during the night and the slope of the land near my guest bedroom (which I'm making mine) there was water coming in the closet.  :-(  He moved everything off the floor and took the pad up. I then found water in the adjoining bath.  I've used a jillion towels today soaking that up. I wash & dry the towels and then use them again. Not fun!  The carpet company came earlier and used a wet vac. Said they will return in a couple of days to replace all the carpeting and pad in that area.

I still don't have everything in its place and that's getting old!  I'm sure you're sick of hearing/reading about it too.  :-)

There are always situations that are worse...the snowstorms in the northeast & midwest, fires that drive folks from their homes, accidents, etc.  I try to allow myself up to 30 minutes for my pity parties, cry fests, etc., when it becomes overwhelming and then I draw the line and get back to reality!

I'm so looking forward to an organized home, flexible/painless knees and a new year that will bring lots of laughter, love, abundance, joy and happiness.  I send you blessings and love!

~ A jillion boxes, a few meltdowns and peace...

I really haven't had much time to post nor much to share lately but wanted to say "hello" and that I miss everyone so much!  I was going to take pics of all the boxes, however, I cannot find the charger for my camera or the cord to link up with my computer. Of course, they are in a very safe place ~ a place that I felt confident in putting them at the time ~ but have no idea where that would be right now. :-)  The boxes do multiply at night, I'm convinced of that!  I know I'll get through this but it would be so nice to be able to do it the way I'd normally do and be done. My knees have been so bad that some days I can't do much at all. Went to a chiropractor last week and will have PT 2-3 x a week for a bit.  I've had a couple of meltdowns but they didn't last long. I do feel very peaceful here and am so grateful!  I have a beautiful view and the morning sun ~ love it!

I know your homes are beautifully decorated and lots of baking being done ~ hopefully, I will get by sometime this week to take a look!  I continue to remind myself of the reason for the season and that gets me through. Bottom line, all this "stuff" doesn't really matter...we just need to keep Christ in Christmas.

~ December 1st ~

Yes, it's my birthday!  I've had such a wonderful day and evening and I am so grateful. It's been a gorgeous day in Texas too. :-)  Of course, it's World Aids Day and it's great that so many countries participate in Aids awareness. It's also Pay It Forward Day which I love!!  I had the best intentions of posting about this earlier today, however, we can all practice this act of kindness on any given day.

I appreciate all of your wonderful comments the past couple of weeks and I apologize that I haven't responded ~ please forgive me!  I'm in the midst of jillions of boxes ~ I honestly think they multiply overnight. :-)  Seems like such a daunting task but I'm not pushing it and I'm very happy where I am now. This is a HUGE blessing!  I hope to take some time and visit everyone's blogs in the next few days.  I can only imagine all the gorgeous Christmas decorations everyone has! I'm not even going to attempt to put up a tree and will only put out a few Christmasy items...and that's ok. I can enjoy everyone's and not have the work. LOL
I've missed you BIG time!
xoxo

My Photo
I started this blog when I saw so many wonderful and creative blogs by amazing women and would like to join in. I am retired after 30 yrs with a major airline. I have 2 young adult children and 2 "perfect" grandchildren. My roommate is an adorable Shih Tzu. I live in an apt that is very nice and I enjoy decorating. My #1 hobby would be baking and I do enjoy artsy/craftsy stuff too. I have a great sense of humor and feel that it's imperative that we laugh every day! I love coffee, iced tea (not sweet), Mexican food, wine occasionally and I seem to be a carbaholic. Life holds so much and there's just not enough time to do all I want to do or see everything on my Bucket List but I'll give it my best shot! I hope that you'll join me ~
